The band did a little weekend thing recently in Sumter and Charleston. What did I eat? How did the shows go? Who drove with who? What else did I eat? I used the bathroom where?!?
All of these things will be answered in this poorly written blog posts.

I picked up the Coach in a Walmart parking lot that afternoon. He just got done working out with his plethora of clients and I could tell he still feel "the pump" as he likes to call it. A lot of sweating and talking through gritted teeth as we made our way to Coverage in Sumter. On the way there we did consider cancelling our involvement in the show to partake in the activities at the Pudding Festival in Turbeville, SC. But we are men of honor. I can't remember ever going to Sumter for any reason besides to a military base with my grandparents as a child. I definitely wasn't aware of any music scene in the town either. But we arrived at the location which was in a residential area across the street from a church. We parked at the church which was at the time being used for high schoolers and their parents/guardians to take prom photos. I can't imagine what they thought as they witnessed two large dorks walking around with an electric fan and a case of beer. Essentially Coverage is a large shed in someone's backyard. The shed had been converted into a venue of sorts with a big stage and a PA system. Everyone sounded pretty good in there for what it was. The part I found most exciting was that aside from like four people the rest of the youths there had no idea who we were and then really enjoyed themselves during our set. Afterwards we went to a Buffalo Wild Wings that happens to be open until 2 AM. I found that fact fascinating. I had 15 traditional Mango Habanero wings. Only one flavor? I happen to really like that flavor. This was the first time I can remember dining at B.W.W. in 10 years however my father treats me to gift cards for that place on holidays and birthdays for whatever reason so I got a free meal. We then made our way to shelter.
Saturday April 15th
We found ourselves in Columbia with a lot of time to kill so I led the boys to the Rosewood Dairy Bar where you can watch a teen make your milkshake right before your eyes. I opted for a cheeseburger basket with a chocolate shake. It was delectable mediocrity. I hadn't been there in some time so I was curious if their parking area had been upgraded with new pavement and maybe some removal of the random metal sticking out of the ground to make parking feel less like an obstacle trial. Nothing had changed and I kind of like that. We made our way to Charleston. Man's Best Friend and the OG suggested a "barcade" called the Recovery Room. I wouldn't call it that but it was still pretty neat. Essentially a very dark room with crap all over the walls and a few different arcade or tabletop games scattered around. One thing that caught my eye was a terrible painting of a recreation of George Perez's New Teen Titans #1. We then went to the Tatooed Moose. Apparently there are two locations. We went to the big one. It was there where a befriended a chihuahua named Rufus. I wanted to just hold him and pet him the whole time but I didn't want to freak the owner out. I had a duck club and duck fat fried french fries with bleu cheese and garlic. It was a considerable meal being forced next to a burger and shake already being housed in my gut. I'd find that there'd be consequences soon. Also there was a musical duo performing at the Tattooed Moose. I forget their names but the played a lot of blues. It didn't make me ponder any bad luck or past romances in my life but I did wonder how many people this guy singing knew that had turned into snakes. We then made our way to Tua Lingua. It was very nice outside so I had made a comfortable spot on one of the lawn chairs outside. The Coach and I then left and went to Taco Bell. I had grilled cheese steak burrito, a standard taco, and cheese quesadilla. When at Taco Bell I do partake in the Baja Blast. Very tasty. We then refueled at a gas station and I went to start my car and then... nothing. The car wouldn't start. New plan. The car gets towed to a local maintenance facility, most of our stuff will be left at Tua, and we all fit in one car and go home. As MBF and the OG were taking care of our stuff the Coach and I were waiting at the gas station. It was nearing 2 AM and the gas station had closed. I was under a bit of stress. It had felt like my stomach decided to start doing gymnastics. Well we were only less than five minutes away from another gas station that was 24/7 and the other two should be back shortly. It was going to be another 20 minutes. I could feel the lower half of my body wasn't going to wait. Into the woods I went. I won't get too graphic but what took place in those trees may have been considered crimes against humanity by some. At a point I wasn't sure if the violent pulsing stream was going to end. Eventually it did but I still had quickly clean and dress myself next to a roasting miasma. There was a moment where I almost lost my balance and would have ended face first into the waste but I was able to stabilize myself. We then went home.
Maybe there was a thing or two I left out towards the end as far specifics with my car situation but it was so annoying I'd rather not go into it again. But that's pretty much what happened. Both shows were really fun and go to see people I like to see and what not.
